Me:
I have over 20 years experience working with artists and the public presenting all manner of art exhibitions. From the early 1990’s and into 2001 I served in the volunteer positions of Treasurer, Show Chair and finally President of the League of Reston Artists.
A member of the initial Visual Arts Advisory Panel for the Lorton Arts Foundation’s transformation of the old DC Correctional Facility at Lorton, Virginia into the Workhouse Arts Center, I came on staff February 2007. In my position as Studio Manager I worked extensively on promoting the Workhouse to area art organizations and individual artists as well as facilitating the rental of studios through the jury process and laying the groundwork for the Workhouse Artist Association. Currently I am the Exhibition Coordinator at the Workhouse. I oversee all aspects of exhibitions in the main gallery building, Gallery W16, including acting as curator/juror for a number of Workhouse exhibitions and community outreach high school art competitions.
I am also a visual artist in my own right working in my home studio in Dickerson, Maryland. Painting primarily in oil and mixed media my abstracts and nudes have won numerous awards and are in many private collections

Artists Statement:
I love color and thru the use of color, I hope to express an emotional
reaction to whatever the original catalyst was. Whether I am responding
to the music playing in my studio, my general mood at the moment, or
the sights, sounds and feel of the world around me, I strive to represent
the essence of my feelings on the canvas. I would say my abstract oil
paintings are really all about emotion.
